Colin & Valerie Bugler19 March 2023 at 13:42 #61523Dear Steve,
Just reading your post about your proposed Lamp stand. If you still want to to make one I have an old/used M45 crank to swop. Most people are now fitting new cranks and rods etc on major rebuilds, well the racers anyway so there should be plenty of old cranks under workbenches. Same with the likes of WO Bentleys and many other makes.
Regards, Eddie Bourke.
Colin & Valerie Bugler21 December 2022 at 17:11 #59075I swapped two 6 volt batteries for a 12 volt battery in my M45. Plenty of options available and I have found having a modern 12 volt battery is much more reliable.
Colin & Valerie Bugler20 November 2022 at 08:35 #58774Thank you both D C W Humphreys and Len for the information, very helpful.
I also went back to David Ayre who rebuilt the car and he has used Fernox Aphihi 11 & de ironised water.
I raised this question as I thought one of the antifreeze was not good for older cars but I didn’t know which one.

I will remove it over the winter to see if it improves it.
Thanks
Colin & Valerie Bugler8 August 2022 at 12:04 #57731Hi DCW,
Yes, I have seen PeterS30’s post and have printed it off.
However, it does not answer my problem, is a part worn and needs replacing or is it something I have to live with?
Colin & Valerie Bugler20 July 2022 at 10:02 #57503Hi Richard, I can see the thumbnails are a bit on the small size, albeit better when clicked on.
I can amend the thumbnail size to make them larger.
You can use the ‘IMG’ tag, but need a url of the hosted image if stored elsewhere. Its unfortunate that Flickr dont allow hot-linking, but it’s not something that we can work around.

Colin & Valerie Bugler19 July 2022 at 20:20 #57495Hi Richard, many thanks for trying. I’ve done some research and, apparently, Flickr have stopped people ‘hot-linking’ to images on their system. As such, they wont display.
If you’d like to add any images, please feel free to upload them and they will display correctly.
Kind regards
James ( website developer)Colin & Valerie Bugler20 April 2022 at 15:46 #55910Thank you Mark, it’s very reassuring to hear your comments. It has now been repaired – welded and plated – involving plenty of stripping down! It turned out that the chassis was out of alignment, seemingly the result of a relatively minor accident many years ago. I may be poorer as a result but compared to what might have happened had it gone further I have probably got away lightly – and I can drive safe in the knowledge it’s been done properly. Bets wishes, and thanks again, Edward
Colin & Valerie Bugler1 April 2022 at 17:25 #55657Hi, Thanks for the information, I have had the battery checked and it is OK. Unlike the Dynamo which is not working. So need to get it repaired.
Colin & Valerie Bugler16 July 2021 at 07:43 #45634I have an Alvis gearbox in my 3,5 litre. I don’t know which type the Alvis gearbox is, as it was mounted when I got the Lagonda. It works perfect. I don’t know much about the gearbox, but I have a friend owning a speed 25 Alvis and he has helped with the few questions I have had.
