I have noticed that at the upcoming Richard Edmonds Auction on March 5th there are a number of parts that may be of interest to owners of pre-war cars, though at present there are no illustrations of a lot of items and the current catalogue which runs to some 10 pages is described as partial.
As I have not posted on the Forum previously I am not sure if the following Link will work, but if not a simple search on their website will work.

Tim Parker2 March 2023 at 22:16 #61340Hi Antony
Many thanks for posting – two of the Lagonda lots are mine! I have posted the supercharged engine kit and Z-gearboxes in the Club classifed in advance of Sunday’s auction. There a few interesting 2L supercharged parts including a rebuilt Zoller and, from memory, some prewar 3L SUs, Meadows crank and M45 instruments.
Best wishes
Tim
A R Bowie3 March 2023 at 06:00 #61342Hello Tim, glad that the posting is of interest, albeit some of the parts are yours.
There are 11 ‘Lagonda’ lots in all including the 1934 Rapier (current bid for which is £17,000). Apart from the mechanical items Lot 551 is for 4 Lagonda books, standard volumes perhaps, by Arnold Davey, Geoffrey Seaton, one on the 41/2 Litre and the Lagonda Collection 1920 – 1945 (club re-print of articles).
Kindest regards
Antony

SteveMorris17 March 2023 at 09:29 #61513Good morning.
I have just joined the forum. I have a passion for old British marques, and have over the years owned various Jaguars (Not the modern types) and currently own a 1973 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow which is a delight to drive. I am an engineer (mechanical) by trade, serving an apprenticeship with Guy Salmon of Teddington/Thames Ditton where is serviced and maintained many old Jaguar/Rolls-Royce motor cars.
Anyway enough about me, I’ll cut to the chase.
I attended this auction in Richard Edmonds, Chippenham Wiltshire and bought a few trinkets, one of which was a huge crankshaft! It transpires this is the crankshaft you mentioned in the post above, and it is from an M45 (Meadows?) 6 cylinder engine. I’ll be honest, the initial plan was to give it a good clean up, then make some kind of standing lamp with it (sacrilegious I know!).
However, when I finally got to have a good inspection of it, it appears it is new, with no witness marks on the gear and covered in wax oil with part of an old card/label attached. This made me call a halt to my plan re the lamp…
I wondered if it would be of any use to anyone here as a spare as it seems such a shame to make a lamp from it, as that would mean removing the wax oil, therefore attracting corrosion and removing any proof of originality?
So, in summary, does anyone need a crankshaft for an M45 which to my eye looks new?
Best regards, Steve Morris.
Richard Branch19 March 2023 at 11:42 #61522Hi Steve,
If you are on Facebook you should also post this on the Lagonda Owners Group pages https://www.facebook.com/groups/1732053427018573
There are over 800 people in that group and several M54 owners that I know of.
Regards
Richard
Colin & Valerie Bugler19 March 2023 at 13:42 #61523Dear Steve,
Just reading your post about your proposed Lamp stand. If you still want to to make one I have an old/used M45 crank to swop. Most people are now fitting new cranks and rods etc on major rebuilds, well the racers anyway so there should be plenty of old cranks under workbenches. Same with the likes of WO Bentleys and many other makes.
Regards, Eddie Bourke.

D C W Humphreys20 March 2023 at 14:27 #61544I suggest that those interested, contact Steve directly outside the forum and that we now finish this thread.
As Richard mentions the facebook Lagonda Owners Group is probably a better place to discuss this subject (ie spares sales).
This forum is really to capture technical and historical knowledge and enable this knowledge to be easily searchable in the future by others with similar problems/questions.
Many thanks.
