I agree. I love the look of this car, not ostentatious like a Roller or second class like a Derby , whoever bought this originally had good taste.
Barry Brown9 December 2012 at 16:31 #49899I am interested in knowing why this car would be such an expensive proposition if one was to retain it’s oily rag look? From the pictures and if the mileage is authentic why could it not just be cleaned up and driven as is? I know a 100 point restoration would be exorbitant but why bother? I really like the look of this car as it is .
Barry Brown4 December 2012 at 12:13 #49888I imagine Lagonda sponsored this team , judging from the name. Are there any adverts for the car in the programme or pictures of the factory?
Barry Brown1 November 2012 at 18:22 #49788OK, I see from the club parts photos it appears they are pressed together. Anyone know what the clearances are?
Barry Brown22 October 2012 at 15:40 #49726how about Bertie Wooster and Hercule Poirot? can anyone tell me what specific models were used in these shows?
Barry Brown18 October 2012 at 16:05 #49720I just watched Jay interviewing one of the authors of the book “Sleeping Beauties”. Ironically they point out a Bugatti sedan that was very recently turned into what looks like a pseudo type 35.
I would frown on anyone making a living out of this sort of exercise however how can you blame impecunious enthusiasts who will now never be able to afford the few best open sports models? Personally, I like sedans but for most they do not have the desired cache.Barry Brown21 September 2012 at 11:46 #49648That sounds great Julian. Better than I thought. So if I drive it harder I will get 10 more miles per gallon or is that as I suspect a typo ?
Barry Brown6 September 2012 at 21:44 #49593I have been following this car as it looks very nice but realistically this man is a dealer and there is no way he is going to “give it away” If it does not attain what he wants he will most likely have a friend or colleague ( or himself) place a bid or 2.
Barry Brown19 June 2012 at 16:21 #49365Julian, I sent you this via personal email with no response so here it is again. Please advise on the availability of a matching speedometer. Thanks, Barry
Barry Brown11 April 2012 at 16:19 #48914Tony, I am plugging on with the M45 as everything I have been offered would be a downgrade and my learned vintage car buddy here in Canada has got me convinced the M45 was one of the truly great ones. It’s a daunting task compared with motorcycle restoration but at least I now have a decent warm shop to work in. I will ask the fellow who had the DB where it went to, hindsight but I suppose at $1800 I should have snapped it up!
Barry Brown11 April 2012 at 10:28 #48912I was offered a sedan less engine near Brockville about 10 years ago. I recently spoke with the seller and he said it did eventually go overseas and he subsequently found the engine and alerted the buyer who acquired it.
