Now for something a little off the beaten track, a football program from the Staines Lagonda team in 1934, coming up at auction on the 13th December..

Lot 108 CHESHAM UNITED. Nine home programmes v. Staines Lagonda 20/12/1934, folded in four, team name on cover, v. Willesden Polytechnic 23/11/1929, heavily folded, worn and frayed at the edges, v. Aylesbury United 1/2/1930, team name on cover, v. Egham 4/10/1930, slightly worn on edge and slightly marked, v. Willesden Polytechnic 8/11/1930, team name on cover, v. Bletchley 10/1/1931 Bucks. Cup, team name on cover, v. West Norwood 24/12/1932, small repair, v. Uxbridge Town 17/2/1934 and v. Waterlows 29/2/1936. Generally good.

I imagine Lagonda sponsored this team , judging from the name. Are there any adverts for the car in the programme or pictures of the factory?

This was an amateur league game, it actually was employees of the company.

BTW, I wouldn’t expect more than a 1 page item, pretty rare of course and have let the club know already.
