if you scroll to the Special Motor cars for sale.

There is a picture of a much darker blue |Rapide. Is this the same car, or is it another ?

The reason I queried the color, was due if my memory serves me correct to a nice DB5 or DB6 on the AMOC web-site, which seemed to be a shade or two lighter than this car ?

I had recently followed a thread on the colour choice of your own DB6 ….

Wheel trims have been missing for awhile on this car, but are of course readily available today.

Nice to see, the drivers side door mirror removed, which spoiled the lines of the car.

Price will be interesting, my guess is somewhere in between LR129 and LR155….

Do you think the body color is now Caribbean Pear, which was original factory finish.

The fawn colored interior looks to be very nice, agreed about head rests

Looks to be in very fine fettle indeed, a lovely looking Rapide, and I fully agree that one can expect it to sell very quickly.

The body color has changed from green when last pictured in Germany a little while ago.

The diameter of a cylinder across the top from one side to the other should be approx. 78 mm. This is for the 2.6 litre engine.

if you post a picture with the cylinder head off, I can confirm if this is the correct engine.

You probably know already if you have removed the cylinder head, that the head gasket is copper, and a replacement will be needed and they are reasonably expensive.

    Peter,

Whilst you are searching for a suitable replacement, in either mill-board or hard pvc….

You could find and fit a pair of clear Rover P4 sun-visors, which a friend has put on his 3.0 litre and they fit and look fine, and were another period option for the 3.0 dhc.

Not surprising, given how many parts come from either Rover, Standard/Triumph or MG-A (door lock mechanisms etc)… Also of course the humble Morris Minor, a source for many parts as well…

The Rover P4 series, is also a great source for replacement front arm rests and the chrome adjustable brackets, when yours get worn out and need re-covering or repairing.

David – I did get some information from this gentleman through the club forum, using the “ask a question”, and sent an email reply back, giving some idea of current prices and availability.

Keep well and look forward to seeing 117 shortly !

Peter – wonderful pictures, thank you for sharing them with us, and you seemed to have had excellent weather as well !

Are you preferring your 3.0 dhc to your V12 for these rally’s ?

    Peter hi

This is a very common problem with the 3.0 litre. The engine bay actually gets very hot from my limited experience and talking to other owners, it is a well documented problem

Many people have moved their coil, and too good effect.

As for new replacement coils, I have several nos ones. Have given up with new ones, after trying two, both of which have proved to be unreliable.

Nice pictures of your car by the way !

The gentleman on eBay seems to be selling the whole kit, do take a look and see if I am missing something – your comments are greatly appreciated.

Will see what pans out and thank you for the kind offer of gearbox tunnel cover..

You can use a stronger material than soap and water, that will take awhile. Another possibility is simply Pledge a furniture spray which will loosen the adhesive, but won’t effect the bakerlite.

I am sure that you can work out why I have experimented with all these different solvents / cleaning agents etc in our business.

    David hi

It wasn’t the slush box which interested me, it was the floor change

Eventually the current box will be changed for the ZF 4-speed box.

Thank you Tim, look forward to the picture, I imagine it must be one of the earlier series DB4’s ?
