Please do take note of what Tim says, Caveat Emptor with this car.
When the car was available from the private vendor 18 months ago at much a cheaper price, I did not purchase for a multitude of reasons, including no ID or prior history.
SRD4 April 2018 at 19:45 #52714Fully concur with you Tim.
I considered the purchase of this “LG45 dhc” some while ago from the original private vendor.
One must be very cautious, as there is no provenance, chassis plate or any form of paperwork.
Secondly, one must tread very carefully with the current vendors
CAVEAT EMPTOR
One small point this thread has become a little confusing, with the addition of the LG45 De Ville.
Peter if you are around, would you mind moving part of this to a new thread please
SRD8 February 2018 at 10:11 #52659Looks to be a good buy at the price asked of ?150,000, someone seems very keen to sell and put cash back in the bank.
SRD7 February 2018 at 09:13 #52658One always wonders what the real price actually was, more so with car dealers, who are inclined to talk the price up.
Pictures look nice, but one needs to see it in the flesh to get a feel for the car and what has been done and look at its prior history.
SRD27 December 2017 at 13:55 #52589I saw this car around 2 years ago and have lots of pictures, it is very nice. Hub-caps would look a lot better on the car, agreed.
Never really worked out why this car has the engine from LR137, but clearly happened within a year of that car being made. Currently LR101 has the 4.0 litre engine. Is the engine in 137 still 3.7 litres or is it now 4.0 litres ?
Highly original, ummh perhaps, but it has had a lot of restoration work, so would be interested to see underneath.
Overall, interesting to see that the first DB4 type dashboard must have been changed early on, in the cars life.
At 245k, not sure it would make this, Roman Purple is a good strong colour and accentuates the cars lines very well. Not sure I like the interior colour, but that is just me…
This car is far more interesting than a standard DB car..
SRD9 August 2017 at 10:00 #52446Now up for sale 2 years later, partially stripped by current owner at 16,000 pounds:

SRD3 August 2017 at 16:29 #52438“Complete car for full-restoration; lots of potential to make a very special car indeed”
By that, I suspect the auctioneers mean, one needs bottomless pits of money to restore this car.
I note on social media there are a fair few pages appearing about the practice of selling wrecks as barn-finds, with Photo-shop spliced Haynes Manual front covers as well.
SRD20 July 2017 at 16:38 #52423This car didn’t sell, I rated it as a condition 3 car overall after taking a good look at it and felt the estimate was too high.
SRD14 April 2017 at 15:57 #52373David hi, you are right of course.
The car looks fine, wonder why the owner did not enter it into the AML Bonham’s auction ?
SRD10 April 2017 at 17:31 #52371David hi, no idea, slightly nervous to ask, these dealers are known for their high prices…
If I recall the car did not make the 300k lower estimate at the end of last year and was still owned by AML at the time ?
SRD23 December 2016 at 10:16 #52221David – you may be right, it could be a GM box. Perhaps misinformed by the owner or my grey cells not working..
SRD8 December 2016 at 15:45 #52208What a lovely surprise….
Will you be making local deliveries ? i
If yes, will order a set of six, we are on the other side of the water ….
😀 😀 😀SRD18 October 2016 at 19:29 #52157From my knowledge of the purchaser, when I last heard he had planned to chop off the roof, and make it into a dhc…
Thankfully, the car has been saved at the moment from this and it is I believe genuinely for sale under his purchase price…
