With all the engineers out there I had expected a response ! Please send me a PM if you have an opinion on this.

Laurence, Why not go over there and offer to “help” Maybe some Lag parts will fall off the truck when they are loading . 😉

I am interested in knowing the whole story as there seems to be little information revealed on how and when the man who accumulated all these treasures died. What was sold at the “first” auction? There is no way that all these remaining cars were totally unknown . Someone must have lived in that house . I imagine the whole story is being intentionally withheld to add to the intrigue. That looks like the nose of an M45 to me.

Worse yet as apparently from overheating, just what has been recently discussed here.

Well I can’t afford a new block so am paying close attention here!

Sorry to hear of your grief and kudos for posting the info here. Sounds to me like someone miscalculated the required piston clearances. Distortion from head studs can be negated if the block is bored with a torque plate in place. Probably no one does this. What about extra cooling with a larger rad capacity auxiliary electric fan and better water pump? Thanks for the warnings! I wonder how much heavier is your sedan than my T7 bodied M45? Summers are getting hotter even here in Canada so this is valuable info.

Wow ! What a bargain. I would love to own that car at that price.
Hard to believe at the same auction some idiot paid 1.2 mill for that ugly Countach. I know a local chap with one. They are prone to catch fire and are an absolute nightmare to change the clutch etc. etc. I’ll bet his will hit the auction block soon.

This is great news to me as I am not a hedge fund manager and would love to have a post war Aston. I hope the prices keep falling!

Looks like great oily rag potential to me. After all who else would have one? Let the next idiot spend a quarter million on it!

I like the look of that Barker coupe. I wonder if any have survived or was it a one off?

I have contacted Jones and they promptly replied that the “free camber from the centre of the eye to the leaf was 6 3/4″ . Should I assume free camber to be when the leaf pack is not installed ? I have measured my 3 packs that are off the car and still together. The rears measure 9″ and 8″ ! To my untrained eye they look like they may have been attended to and have few miles. The remaining front still together measures 5.25” I have emailed Jones back .
A local truck spring shop claim they can tell what the springs were originally set at by taking them apart. Is this possible?
