Please post the correct link here . I have searched Facebook and there are a lot of references to Lagonda but almost all to do with the late model jobs.
Barry Brown18 September 2015 at 00:00 #51452Good points Colin but you missed one. You don’t have to clean the sock , just chuck it out.
Barry Brown25 August 2015 at 12:51 #51419A thought for the future .There are a few outfits over here that will sleeve the cylinders with stainless and I think use brass pistons.

Barry Brown15 August 2015 at 13:45 #51408We should be grateful it wasn’t the despicable Clarkson who bought one. Hammond is a motorcycle man as well was Wal Handley ( Rudge 500TT champ 1930 ) who had an M45 and of course do not forget the first Lagonda was a motorcycle.
With most celebrities collector cars and bikes are just the “flavour of the month” I spotted Alan De Cadenet’s name in the Brough club roster many years ago but it disappeared quickly. He also purchased a couple of Crockers a few years ago and then quickly tired of them and auctioned them off. Jay Leno has an eclectic collection but you can be sure none are for sale, all are treasured, maintained and used including his replica Lagonda Lemans v12 !Barry Brown10 August 2015 at 20:37 #51393My guess is that the wire spoked one is an aftermarket Bluemels and the flat spoked one is original but I think the spokes in that one should be plated.
Barry Brown9 August 2015 at 01:26 #51383i have been using this stuff for about 40 years in a quick change racing differential ( Frankland) and various other motorcycle and auto gearboxes and diffs. Seems to work well. I will definitely be using it in the M45.
Barry Brown29 July 2015 at 19:28 #513573 litre? I just noticed a mention of his Lag in the Classic Motorcycle report on the Stafford auction where he and James disposed of some of their bikes. He definitely has good taste in bikes and cars!
Barry Brown29 April 2015 at 11:09 #51225David, Have a look at my inaugural posting in this section to see what a Lagonda motorbike looks like ! Barry
Barry Brown5 April 2015 at 21:21 #51205David, You and any other Lagonda aficionados are most welcome to visit here. We are located in central Canada near Kingston Ontario, half way between Toronto and Montreal. I am glad you enjoyed your visit to British Columbia. Maybe a cross Canada tour is in the cards. Petrol is a lot less expensive here!
I think I may have mentioned this before but the “sister” car to my M45 was repatriated back to Canada a few years ago and resides with a nice chap near Niagara Falls about 4 hours from here. Both cars belonged to Commander Warren Poole , Canadian Naval Captain of Canada’s last aircraft carrier “The Bonaventure” .
I agree the forum is great . I am quite often amazed to see how many local “auto enthusiasts ” have never heard of the marque Lagonda.

Barry Brown3 March 2015 at 18:23 #51189first impression I got from the thumbnail was that looks weird but after seeing the enlargement and rear 3/4 shot I really like it. Very cool indeed. I would drive that anywhere. Gurney Nutting seemed to dare to be different and I like that.It must have been a knockout in 1949. I am sure to see this car in the flesh it would look even better. I hope it survived or is being resurrected.
Barry Brown23 January 2015 at 18:07 #51151Thanks Julian , much appreciated. Good luck with your new venture.
