The car has now been sold privately to a Lagonda club member, who plans to restore it, and he is more than capable of this.
So hopefully, another one of these elegant cars will be saved.
SRD27 September 2012 at 12:13 #49679Toby hi
best point of contact, would be Lagonda owners club.
If you email me, will give you the contact details.
They will no doubt have a history file on the car if it was known to the club.
Kind regards
Simon
SRD27 September 2012 at 12:12 #49678Gert good afternoon,
You did a beautiful job with this car, I have seen the before pictures, and what a fabulous motor car has reappeared…
KInd regards and best of luck with the sale

SRD27 September 2012 at 12:10 #49677Back on again, now reduced from 2500 to 1995 pounds, and still to expensive given how rotten this car is.
At around 1000 pounds it would be a better buy, but rotten out-riggers and the engine bay stripped out, and lots and lots to do…
SRD27 September 2012 at 12:08 #49676Car sold for slightly less than last time at 1020 pounds, lets hope who ever purchased it, does something with it.
imho, it is good for parts only, simply not econmoic to restore..
SRD23 September 2012 at 20:12 #49660A link to a nice 3.0 litre 2-door Lagonda brochure:

SRD23 September 2012 at 18:04 #49657THis one sold fast, but then again it came with the bulkead and was a near complete rolling chassis with few parts missing. An ideal basis to rebuild a car on.
Sold at 550 pounds which seems very reasonable..

I figured it was you on the AMOC site, I also have same user name over there.
A very nice resource for everyone.
Kind regards
SimonSRD21 September 2012 at 14:33 #49650Looking through these pictures, one should note that the steering rack and column is not complete, looks to have been partially removed and no doubt fitted into a DB2.
These racks are now selling for around 500 pounds complete, and replacement steering wheels are also expensive, around 350 pounds for a Bluemels wheel.
Best use of this car is for parts, much too expensive to be worthwhile restoring, given current prices of saloons.
But, no doubt I will be proved wrong, lets hope it goes to a more permanent home this time or used for parts…
SRD20 September 2012 at 20:52 #49639I would suggest that it a mixture of the tough financial conditions and over-optimistic vendors.
For example the LG6 had been in the same auction two months ago.
imho, this 4-door was simply over-priced, which can kill a car unless it is exceptionally good.
SRD20 September 2012 at 14:59 #49635The car sold with buyers premium for 8,558 pounds, which was a good price for a complete 2.6 litre saloon in need of restoration. Thsi means the seller will not have made a profit, but nearly broke even.
However, complete cars in anything other than tatty condition are becoming harder to find. Will be interesting to see if this price level is repeated for other saloons. Fine cars and udner-rated for too long imho.
SRD20 September 2012 at 14:56 #49634Car was unsold, clearly not in the condition buyers were looking for.
A good condition 2 car would easily make this, however, I suspect that it was pretty average, with paint blistering and lots of other minor issues needing to be sorted.
SRD20 September 2012 at 14:55 #49633Exactly as I expected, unsold.
Buyers are more fussy and especially so in todays market, no one will pay such strong money for a car that started life as a saloon.
