Are you keeping the old exhaust manifold or looking for a complete s/s system?

Let me know how the cost works out please.

    Hi Peter,

Reevy’s car was already restored by late 2009, so that is a separate car.

The 1953 restored car in Holland is a Mk2 and not Mk 1 car. Note the front head-lights, rear lights and lower sill single side rails, and give away rear number plate holder etc etc. I would suggest that this is a 1955 car.

So my guess is that the unrestored and restored cars in Holland are either the same car or just possibly two different cars, .

All are wonderful cars and clearly a delight to own when fully restored…..

    Peter hi

When I last spoke to Reevsy about six months ago, he told me that he had sold his car privately to a gentleman in Sweden for 45k.

I wonder if these are two different cars.

I wonder if the origins of the restored car in Holland is the following 3.0 litre dhc car also from Holland, for sale back in 2010 for 23k Euro’s ?

The car is now back up for sale on the web, still in Monaco and with a fair bit of work to do at 29k.

    Stewart hi

I would suggest that you place an advert in the Lagonda monthly gazette, that may flush out a car or two for you. There is a nominal cost of a few pounds for an advert.

The car sold for 30,000 +10% bp, making a total of 33,000 pounds for a smell of past splendor.

Good to see unrestored saloon prices are holding up.

    David

You hit the nail on the head, I will look for 6 inch wide rims, thanks for the advice and thoughts.

    David,

Many thanks for your prompt reply:

    The wheels are 5.5J x 15″ with 72 spokes.
fitment: 42 mm rim inset: 22.00 mm

The hub splines are identical as is the hub diameter. Same wheels also for the DB6.

I have checked with Avon and these tyres will fit a rim width from 5.5 – 6 inches, so appears to be no problems there to fit either standard Rapide wheels or wire wheels.

My old tyres removed from my Rapide, were also same Avon turbospeed size.

Will the slightly narrower rims cause any problems ?

    Many thanks.

    Peter hi

I fully agree with you, and the restored car looks splendid, and doesn’t sell

But, if memory serves me correctly, the last example was back in June / July (?) made around 35-38k, which I couldn’t understand….

Also a 16/80 instruction manual as well, in seemingly good order.
