Hi David,
I bought an incomplete second hand set of discs a while ago. Mainly missing some of the fixing bits and locking rings.
If you have any bits you want to sell I would be interested to know what you might have.

DavidLG4514 October 2013 at 08:22 #50472Hi Laurence,
Have you read this thread?
http://www.lagondaforum.com/showtopic.php?id=123&q=LoomNot specifically V12 but I suspect typical. The safest way would be to send them the old loom. Note prices on the attachment are out of date.
Autosparks will make or add whatever you want, or braid your own wiring if you tape it together.
Bear in mind you can have fit problems adding wires in areas that are a tight fit. I added wires for flashing indicators and couldn’t get the dashboard loom in as it was too fat (not a V12, though).

DavidLG4511 October 2013 at 11:40 #50462Is this what you need? I can’t find a date but the book looks about the right period. I hope you can read it.

DavidLG454 October 2013 at 09:23 #50435Hi Peter,
Is the cardboard a grey/brown colour and quite hard and stiff?
It’s probably millboard. Used in bookbinding to make the hard covers.
You can get millboard from companies that supply classic car trim materials. Or you could consider using something like rigid PVC sheet which is available in various thicknesses.

LMB Racing have M45 leaf springs. Perhaps they can tell you the measurements you’re looking for.

DavidLG4528 February 2013 at 19:19 #50041Hi Laurence,
Have a look at the Frost website. They do various chassis paints. http://www.frost.co.uk
Do follow the instruction otherwise things can go wrong. They have instructions for most of the products in pdf format.David

Julian is referring to a long bolt that runs horizontally front to back through the upper part of the front mount. There is a coil spring on one end. Early LG45s may be different.
I have a diagram I could look out if you need more info.

DavidLG459 November 2012 at 13:20 #49831Great they’ve got a more comprehensive website. I particularly like the magazine pdfs, which you can download and search. I hope they can get more of the back magazines on. The ads need a bit of attention, the David Ayre ad is illegible. I have to say I’m not too keen on the “dashboard” styling.
DavidLG4515 August 2012 at 14:51 #49536Hi David,
You mean the silentbloc bushes. An inner and an outer steel tube with rubber between.
I think you’ll find they are 3/8 ID. Not sure of the OD.
Try a Google search. May be difficult to get imperial bushes.David
DavidLG457 August 2012 at 14:25 #49521Hi Simon,
It does look quite a nice car. 37,511 miles on the clock. I wonder if that’s correct? One or two things to look at.
The leather looks new but appears to be well done. The door pull strap is in the wrong place but that’s a minor detail. Not sure what all that extra chrome is by the pocket in the door – some sort of extra security I imagine?
It does look quite low at the back which suggests the springs need retempering.
As Peter commented the air silencer is missing. Not sure why that horn is on the bulkhead. That is a horn (the red thing)? The jack oil tank appears to be missing also the shock absorber spill valve (the two holes on the bulkhead below the fuel pipe). This would suggest the jacks are missing and the luvax shocks too. The jacks are replaceable (the club has some) should you wish to replace them but the luvax shocks would be much harder to find.
Check the doors for fit. If they have dropped or scape on the sill or front post the likely cause is the hinge post (B post) is rotting. Have a look underneath – the bottom end of the B post is exposed so you can see if there is rot. They tend to rot from the bottom up.David
DavidLG4519 June 2012 at 08:51 #49364Hi Colin,
I agree 100 percent with your comments. I would love to restore a saloon. Just wish I had the time. I am tempted to go and have a look.

DavidLG4530 May 2012 at 11:31 #49292Hi Simon,
My point was why did a re-bodied Alvis saloon sell for ?94,000 and the Lagonda with original body didn’t. However well the re-body was done it was still a re-body. Personally I quite like Charlesworth saloons and wish they hadn’t thrown the original body away.
