Thanks. Maybe the boot floor needs adjusting. The floor is probably not original as well as the number plate panel so difficult to know what isn’t right or if anything is missing. The petrol tank had a dent in the back so I imagine the number plate panel was destroyed when that happened.
Various types of rear number plate seem to have been used. I need to create a number plate panel like the attached photo with only external photos as reference. I don’t imagine finding a discarded panel as a pattern is very likely so any info – photos/diagrams welcome.David

Many thanks for the photos. I will email you with a request for a few hi-res images that you kindly offered.
I can’t see any sign of a curved panel that I described underneath in your photos. Not to say the cars were all the same? See sketch.DavidLG456 January 2021 at 11:30 #53230Here is a link

DavidLG454 September 2020 at 13:12 #53187Hi Laurence,
No, the rexine covered board is completely missing. Not even remnants.

Probably too late for any more buying advice. Did you buy the car? Would love to see some photos if you did.

DavidLG4518 October 2018 at 14:07 #52901Hi Colin,
It was a few years ago (10 plus) and I don’t really remember but I don’t think what they charged me was very much. Maybe ?20 or ?30 at a guess.

DavidLG4518 October 2018 at 08:14 #52898Hi David,
If they are anything like mine the dipping reflector sits in a cradle (the black bit in the diagram). The reflector is then mounted on the cradle which also has the solenoid. If I remember rightly the same reflector will fit (could be mistaken). There are alternative mounting holes for the cradle, depending on which way you want it to dip.
I managed to get a cradle from the Realcar company in North Wales, the RR dealer. I emailled them a photo and surprisingly they had an exact match. This was some time ago but worth a try if Colin hasn’t got what you need.
The bits are sitting in a box awaiting attention. Unfortunatly I have a back issue at the moment otherwise I would get the bits out and photograph them for you.
I hope this helps

DavidLG4526 May 2018 at 09:36 #52787The efforts of active members and the club committee is of course appreciated as always, but what do we use the card for? Please explain. I don’t think I have ever shown my membership card to anyone. If they only cost a few pence then they do make the club look more professional so I’m fine with the new card. If they serve no purpose why issue one, plastic, card, or otherwise.
As for new club members I imagine most members are owners. As there is a fraction of the cars compared to Jaguars or MGs, for instance, the club can’t hope to gain many extra, can they? I?m all for attracting younger members but is there evidence of younger owners that aren?t members to be encouraged to join. If that?s the case then fine, encourage them. But why would a lot of non-owners of any age join? A key reason to join is spares. A non-owner has no need for spares.
A report on club membership compared to cars over the years would be interesting. You only need to look around at an AGM to notice most present are not in the younger age bracket. There are no cheap Lagondas to buy anymore unfortunately so it has become the hobby of the older person. There is no rival club to attract new members from either. So, who are your target younger potential members? The AMOC claims to have over 6000 members.
“Out of the 65,000 Aston Martin cars made, approximately 90 percent are still on road”Different ballpark, me thinks.

DavidLG4526 October 2017 at 09:24 #52527Hi Barry,
I’m no expert and others may be more informed but but I would have though a satin finish. And black. Could the grey be a primer?
Can you see the chassis colour from a normal viewing position? If not why would it be anything other than black? Have you got the build sheet, does that say the chassis colour?
The engineers on this forum can better advise you but is it a good idea to put the axle in an oven?
