People love a wreck – it’s the same for houses, they imagine how it will be and that dictates what they are prepared to pay. There did seem to be some very good value cars, maybe the classic car market is cooling slightly with house prices rising so quickly. I don’t know who bought 108 but I don’t think it was someone in the room, if I find out I will let you know…
Christian17 May 2014 at 20:48 #50796Seems in line with prices for the last year or so…but still going up. Each car is so individual; condition, specification, history etc that’s it’s hard to gauge exactly what prices are doing, but maybe not rocketing up…
Saw this car in the garage a few days ago, it’s not mine… 😉

Christian27 March 2014 at 09:01 #50767A friend of mine bought me one of these, not sure it was a Neo (model manufacturer) but actually a pretty accurate model – think mine has a slightly better grill on the front though.
Christian10 February 2014 at 16:35 #50674So do you know what the price to the buyer was? I was told ?160 was the hammer price but obviously a mistake. ?160K seems quite good after what you’ve said, plus if you add fees etc I guess it’s much higher.
Christian10 February 2014 at 08:56 #50671With commission and VAT the final price was ?219 – so around ?180K…which is not so bad!
Christian3 February 2014 at 20:38 #50662Thanks! I haven’t pushed it too much as the timing and mixture still needs fine tuning, I think it’s running a bit rich so it’s going in to be done this week. It copes well with 30mph in 4th, overall drives very well and doesn’t handle like an old car. Brakes are a bit scary but this may be because they haven’t bedded in yet, or is it just how a heavy 60’s car is? The steering is a little heavy when stationary but you can live with it, I’m now glad I didn’t fit EPAS. I’d love to know where you managed to find the air filters…I’ll be in contact!
Christian27 January 2014 at 20:08 #50649Thanks for the tip David, a bit of adjustment and it now sits in the right place! Still haven’t found what those brackets are for…
Christian21 January 2014 at 10:08 #50647It was quite annoying to see all my seat belt buckles disappear down the back because it moved forwards a bit. It does fit well but some kind of re-assuring clunk as it slots in would be nice.
Christian19 January 2014 at 17:56 #50645Thanks for looking. I decided to make the part in question today, much harder said than done but it turned out okay.
As for these brackets, I’ll look around the runners but I wouldn’t have thought they would be up to the job. The rear seat base seems quite loose, what holds it in place?
