Lagondas also appeared in Campion, a 16/80 tourer (see this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campion_(TV_series). Lots of driving time – nice to see.
Also in the Lord Peter Wimsey series – not sure what model.
The Poirot one was a 2 litre LC, I believe.

If your input and output shafts are more or less parallel to each other, but move laterally with respect to each other, the best setup is to have the yokes on either end of the shaft parallel to each other, not at right angles. U-joints are not perfect when running at an angle, and although the diff may be running at a steady speed, the driveshaft will vary in speed. By aligning the yokes on the shaft in parallel this effect cancels out and the wheel should run at a steady speed.

You can quickly check to see if the pipe is polyethylene or polypropylene by seeing if a piece will float in water. These are the only two common plastics that will. ABS and PVC can handle a bit higher temperatures (and can be solvent-bonded, unlike PE and PP). If you can find CPVC, that would be the best.

Thanks – that’s exactly what’s there. I thought 1933 was a bit early for Silentblocs but a quick search showed they came out in the early ’30s. Now I’ll have to find replacements…

I understood a chassis number with an “S” prefix indicated a 16/80. I can’t see how this would end up on an older chassis.

On a somewhat related topic, how are members restoring their steering wheels when the Cellulose cover is missing or in really bad shape?
