Thank you Simon. Who knew (not I) that the e-catalogue was an additional item to to the online catalogue. Presumably, the e-catalogue is also something other than an electronic version of the hard copy to be published shortly, since it has so many more pages the result of doing otherwise would be an unfeasibly large tome. Therefore, what one ends up are three different versions of catalogue for the same auction. Blimey!

I’d quarrel with ‘by far’. We’ve been this way before, Simon. 😀
First, they are all lovely IMO. Secondly, the 2 door coupes – especially the 2.6 Brooklands of Bond Street cars – are particularly desirable, I think, and run a pretty close second to the 3 litre DHCs. Thirdly, the Mk2 4 door saloon is a wonderful thing and, I would argue, nearly as desirably as the DHC. Finally, I would question whether the 2.6 DHC is so very far behind the 3 litre version in terms of desirability?

Well, I think it’s a very nice prospect that should do well in the auction. 🙂 It looks a lot like my own project car, though in better condition.
It was more or less complete e.g. no rear bumper. It appeared to me to be a ‘proper’ barn find, if you know what i mean, and i thought the price achieved about right (if not a little light). Certainly, it was a far better better bet, restoration-wise, than the AM V8 half finished project that achieved ?46 pbp.
Thanks for your insight, Bill. I’m quite sure you’re correct and I am going to approach the issue in the way you suggest, with the kind assistance of a fellow member who has much experience in this regard.
Like you, I also want to use as many original parts as i can but much will depend on condition obviously. In terms of cost/price/value of these original parts, the outer discs themselves were quite inexpensive (?35 each) but then there are all the other parts and (x5) it soon adds up. FYI, the total cost to me thus far is approaching ?700 (which includes some brand new rubber valve extensions with the correct Lagonda threads etc.).
I now have circa 90% of the parts but I will (of course) need not only to find or have made the few missing parts but also refurbish each element etc. etc.. Still, given the cost of newly manufactured items, and in any event, I think the result will be well worth it. I love the look of these wonderful Lagonda saloons (in particular) when equipped with these beautiful accessories.
Chaps, I’m being offered a (near) complete set of discs and parts. They are said to be LG6/V12.
I have two questions please:
1. Will these discs fit the standard wheels of LG45 S3 saloon?
2. Are the outer discs likely to be of the same design (in appearance) as those fitted to an LG45?
If the answer to both questions is ‘yes’, the way forward is obvious. However, as the ‘kit’ for 5 wheels is not cheap, I would like to be sure.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Original DB 3 litre items come up on eBay pretty regularly. Sometimes the price sought is daft but you can always try negotiating, naturally. Expect to pay well north of ?100 for one in fair condition and perhaps ?300+ for a mint example these days. They also crop up occasionally at auction e.g. I picked up an unused/unissued 2.6 manual at the Bonhams Newport Pagnell auction a few years back.

The Real Car Company seems to have branched out into the Lagonda world of late. They sold a Rapier project car recently and have a DB 3 litre DHC for sale at the moment as well aa this gorgeous 14/60.
