Members interested in post war cars maybe be interested to note that the reasonably wholesome looking 3 litre saloon at H&H Duxford is apparently unsold…

The car reached ?16,000, not enough to sell it apparently…

Interesting, thanks for the info ….seems low. Have not seen it in the flesh but it appeared a good basis for a restoration if I wasn’t in the middle of my LG45 I could have been tempted!

I saw it at the H&H auction in the Spring, as mentioned on this forum at the time. For some reason, the successful bider (then) abandoned the idea of restoring her and the car was/is (I believe) residing with David Wall currently. You’re correct – a reasonable project basis indeed. If I didn’t have more than enough projects already, I would have had a go myself.

From my knowledge of the purchaser, when I last heard he had planned to chop off the roof, and make it into a dhc…

Thankfully, the car has been saved at the moment from this and it is I believe genuinely for sale under his purchase price…
