Sold for 150000 to a Lagonda man who has now totally dismantled it in order to re-fettle & ‘add reliability’ for long distance rallies…

Assuming the car is Chassis 12319…. the engine was listed as LG6/459/S4…UK reg GPH 926 … which all seems a little confusing… a study of the engine picture would appear to indicate THIS engine number AND chassis 12319…

Indeed, although the M45 engine and the G9 gearbox are not the ideal bits for a “racer” ……if one had the choice, that is.
mehere28 September 2017 at 07:24 #52488As above, following a rather slow start from 7000 [where even my hand started to fidget] it then rapidly went into the 20’s & on to the ?30000. Telephone and, possibly, internet bidding but went, I think, to someone in the room.
As mentioned elsewhere, engine is M45 [number M45/192]. Gearbox is G9.
mehere10 August 2017 at 07:58 #52448It is an M45 engine. Gearbox is G9 .. car has been in that spot [Welsh Marches] for many many years and many many people tried to acquire it…..

The km/h speedo is interesting, I wonder how many prewar Lagondas have those.Laurence
And also ‘eau’ and Litres on water/fuel gauges yet ‘oil’ not huile on the oil pressure gauge …
mehere11 January 2015 at 20:18 #51138I notice that the UK-registered M45 saloon [see above] is not in the sale- so I wonder if it can be assumed that this is one of the cars the family have retained to have restored for themselves?

chassis 12238, it seems ..
mehere8 December 2014 at 10:46 #51099There is mention of an LG45 Lagonda ? and indeed, in some pictures a blue drophead is quite apparent. However, trawling through some of the 100 other pictures there is also a very intriguing and very original-looking M45 [or maybe 3-litre] saloon which is on BRITISH number plates?.
