Hi Colin,
Thanks for the info.
The choke mechanism you refer to was an optional extra and it was not fitted to my car. There is however the standard choke strangler which when rotated by pulling a lever on dash causes the air flow to be reduced thus make the mixture richer.
The current starting problem has only occurred over the last 18 months and the setup has not been changed therefore I do have a problem somewhere. it is just a question of finding it!
You are correct that there is a take off for the Autovac and on my car 2 connectors which go to the ki gas pump outlet.

Are both the input and output unions 5/16″ on the M45 ki-gas pump?
On the 2 litre the output to the manifold is 0.307 (approx 5/16″) but the input from the fuel supply is 0.349 which is an odd size ( 11/32″ is 0.34375 and 23/64″ is 0.359375)The nearest pitch I could get for the 0.307 (5/16″) was the1mm as you stated
Any ideas on this?
Mike Heins10 December 2007 at 21:39 #47015I am currently using a BTH GA4 magneto on our 2 Litre High Chassis. It works well and does not need any modifications to the actual mag BUT the clamping arrangement has to be slightly modified. I can’t remember exactly what has to be done but it was not complicated. I will try and remember and put a posting on later.
This might be of help
Mike
