I was interested to see your query on the Forum asking for any thoughts on a DB 2.6 ‘special’ and have waited to see if anyone else replied with any details. Of course it always sad perhaps when a car get to the stage of only being suitable for spares or re-use (upcycling) as a special.
I am aware of 4 specials which will be known in the Club, one based on the EX1 chassis (Registration RSU420), and one built by John Weatheritt, (Registration JDF47) which was sold at auction a few years ago, these are broadly based on Le Mans style ideas. Some pictures can be seen on Ron Press’s website – the Lagonda – Post War Models (lagonda1949-1958.co.uk)
There are also 2 other specials, one finished, one which was still in construction in an article written by the owner Roger Darnell on the same website with some photographs, the one under construction being styled on a BRM P25/Ferrari 375.
On a slightly different tangent, I have seen details on the Daimler Forum of a special built on a Daimler Majestic which looks to be very professionally assembled, if you are interested see Daimler Majestic Special YYL 30 – (dloc.co.uk)

Hello Tim, glad that the posting is of interest, albeit some of the parts are yours.
There are 11 ‘Lagonda’ lots in all including the 1934 Rapier (current bid for which is £17,000). Apart from the mechanical items Lot 551 is for 4 Lagonda books, standard volumes perhaps, by Arnold Davey, Geoffrey Seaton, one on the 41/2 Litre and the Lagonda Collection 1920 – 1945 (club re-print of articles).
