It now looks like this was car 110, recorded as being for sale in March 1992 in the Uk having been stored outside in Arizona for some years. Now believed to be in Queensland, Australia (since 1993 when it was advertised for sale again), and in very good condition if the pictures on the internet are a guide

121 was converted to 5-speed later (If it was definitley done by the factory I’ll change my records)

Hi Soren, I can identify every one of your list but would prefer not to on the web. If you PM me, I can provide more detail

Except 5293MM which is widely known as the first car with all the PR history, hence 101, and yes it is non-metallic black but was Roman Purple when new. It’s also the only car with chrome fins on top of the rear wings

Your Car 01 is Aegean Blue, Car 02 is Midnight Blue (so is Car 12, Netherlands) , Car 11 was Oro Longchamps (unique), Car 13 is Dubonnet Rosso (same for Car 03)

    Best wishes

Francis, are you still interested in a Rapide. Have a look here

Car 121 appears to be for sale, RHD 5-speed manual, good condition judging by the photos

Alan, the omly gold car when new was 130, colour Oro Langchamps with a red interior. As pictured in Geoff Seaton’s book if I recall with wire wheels. First owner a Mr Gilbey (Gin?). Supplied new through Brooklands of Bond Street in July 63. Otherwise when new how about 145 which was “Cognac” with fawn interior, now sadly broken up after a 1984/5 fire (was this a Cobb car?). However there is a car now in bronze or similar, pictured on the web, but I can’t find my picture of it. White number plate with red letters sounds Belgian?

Alan, 102 is (or was) in Devon, 122 in USA, 136 in Germany, 141 in Kuwait (pictures on internet)
127 is or was Dubonnet Rosso with fawn interior
Was 126 in the film Doctor in Distress? Picture at IMDB but number plate illegible
    Best Regards

The 2 cars I referred to as converted into something else do not include 137 which is still clearly a Rapide with a factory-fitted DB5 frontal treatment. Which is the other one by the way?

I was referring to 130 which is allegedly a DB4GT Zagato look alike, as per the AMOC Register of 2004 (?) and to 102 (some of) whose body panels etc have been (or at least were some years ago) mated with a DB4 chassis to make in effect a 2-door hybrid.

If it’s not 130 converted then it’s 103 (I don’t have books to hand), and I don’t recall today which of these 2 cars I looked at around Easter 1998 at the USA, pre-conversion

The 7 cars on which I have no info beyond build sheet type data are 111, 112 (reputed to be in Eire still), 125, 126, 132, 134, 143. Alan do you know of any of these?

I think there are only 7 definite unknowns. And in your scrapped category, do you include the 2 cars known to me that have been converted into something else?

Alan, which ones do you have no info on? It would be interesting to compare notes on which cars we know nothing about, to lend weight or otherwise to the repeated statement that “48 cars are known to exist”

If I recall 1077PP (LR153) belonged to a friend of Martin. I haven’t seen published updates for a while, perhaps they’ve stopped

I have a case which shows no sign of mounting in a glove box, with a post-war Lagonda badge glued on the front: is this a genuine article and if so which car might it be from?

Yes Mark it does include reference to your car, however it does not have much detail of its history. Just numbers and colours etc from the original build sheet, and reference to first owner being a member of Guinness family. If you’d like to provide a brief summary, I’d be happy to make sure the AMHT info is updated. I’ll send you an email

The Aston Martin Heritage Trust maintains a register of Rapides, it is ongoing work, but there is nothing (yet) like the Danish Wedge site. Maybe one day!

I’ve just checked the Irish number plate site and it has no record of CZB678 so it would appear that it has either got a new number, been scrapped or been exported
