A 2L Lagonda with a 1933 Vanden Plas two seater body has been advertised on Internet as being for sale in Jersey at “Le Riche Automobile Restorers (CI) Ltd”, asking price 68.000 pounds.
The ad for this car is on the Classic Cars For Sale website complete with pictures and the Jersey vendors claim that the car has only been confirmed for sale “since yesterday” – which is a lie, the car has been advertised for many months. You can see the ad at:
    http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/8894
However, the same car is actually in Hampshire and really for sale at Beaulieu Garages; they ask 65.000 pounds. They too have an ad on internet (on their own website). See:
    http://www.beaulieugarage.co.uk/stock/lagonda/index.html
I was interested in the car and when I tried to find out what was going on I send a very polite email to Le Riche but their aswer was so weird (“best come to germany and buy it at techno classica”) that I am inclined to think that this is an attempt at a scam of some sort.
    I recommend great caution.

    Dear All,

I looked carefully at this car at the Bealieu Autojumble and have formed a view about this car. I do not feel able to express this opinion on the open forum – other than to reflect that it has been on the market for a long time so maybe I am not the only person who has the same view about it. Any potential purchasers can contact me privately for my appraisal of it.
