This has probably come up before, but what are the differences between the light and heavy rear axles? Is there an easy way to tell them apart?

AlecAlec: I recently compared the rear axle in my LG45 to the 16/80 one that I am working on. I measured the center section and found the heavy axle was two inches or so larger at the diff housing than the 16/80 axle. Otherwise they look the same.
