I have been searching for some time, without success, to find a source of replacement for the rear light stalks on my M45.

However, I have found a small foundry which specialises in high quality “investmet” casting (also known as “lost wax” casting) which is rideally suited to short production runs and produces a finished product which needs little or no finishing work.

The company is run by a motoring enthusiast and has done work for many owners of vintage cars including Bently, Rolls Royce and Alvis. It currently supplies parts to Red Triangle, the Alvis specialists.

Price is obviously dependant on quantity and I have been given an indicative estimate for the offside bracket (i.e. with the number plate support) of ?100, based on a run of 6 to 10 units. The castings will be in high grade aluminium which is considerably stronger than the original Mazak.

The castings can be ready before Christmas, leaving ample time to get them fitted before the spring but, before going ahead, if anyone is interested in obtaining one or both castings, please let me know.

My e-mail is [email protected] or you can telephone me on 01829 261522

Is it too late to get in on this venture? I need a set. Please advise. Thanks.
