As you may have seen in the latest newsletter, David Hine has written further notes for the revised handbook dealing with rebuilding the G9 gearbox.

Just to complete the saga, all is now well and aligned. The height of the rear gearbox mounting is pretty much fixed by achieving clearance for the UJ. The front mountings I adjusted by initially jacking the box, gently, upwards and then releasing it slowly whilst turning the shaft by hand until minimum resistance was found. Whilst running, there was still a bit of a graunch into first and reverse. To solve this I made small adjustments to the front mounting height, with the engine running and the clutch fully disengaged, until there was no rotation of the input shaft. It is now in a happy state, as am I.
This may seem very amateur to the pros but as I didn’t want to remove the clutch assembly, it seems to have worked.
Many thanks to all who have helped.

Well done Adam ! Presumably this means you are now the current G9 expert to whom all problems can in future be referred !!
