Well, now I discover the distributor is from a 1940s Daimler and not original at all.  I wonder if I should try to obtain an original version – anyone know what it should be?

Thanks both.  I’ll take your advice on parts Laurence though sadly I won’t be at AGM so will contact distributor doctor.  And James I’d be tempted by the alternator but my dynamo seems to work very well!

I found the markings on the dizzy which indicates it’s DZ6A 40047B so Lucas.

I have a fuel leak (again) at the filler neck which stupidly enters the tank at the middle, meaning it sits in fuel if the tank is more than half full, so I’m going to have to give that priority for now.  Had it brazed before but clearly the pinholes are going to keep returning so I’ll do a mod I think.
