    Dear Forum members,
For a restauration of a 4.5 rapide, we are looking for two rear brake cylinders. second hand, good condition if possible, as the ones in the pictures, (no new ones available).

If anyone by chance has a set arround would be highly appreciated.

    Best regards

    Adil

    Hi,
Unfortunately I can’t help with parts, but it looks like you have a rod or cable operated braking system on your Rapide, in which case you will not have brake cylinders on your car. I might be wrong but the casting on the right hand side of your pictured brake backplate appears to be what is termed an “expander”, which I would think means the items you need are therefore the adjusters.

Yes an expander is what you want.
Try David Ayre http://www.davidayre.com Or LMB Racing in Belgium http://www.lmbracing.be – both carry second hand spares for Lagondas.

I have just had a quick look on ebay, is this the right one?

Similiar parts used on Rileys. Sometimes they are smaller sizes but worth while pursuing this avenue. I found the parts that I wanted (LG45) from a Riley specialist . Cant remember now exactly what parts or from whom but post again if you fail to find what you want.

Pina try Blue Diamond Services – Telephone (UK number ) 01458251147. They should be able to help or maybe point you in the right direction.
These are NEW items they sell for Girling rod brakes.
