Yes, a V12 handbook for sale on ebay, but this one has been signed by Briggs Cunningham, and is almost certainly the original handbook for the V12 he purchased new, and had the ineffable good taste to keep for the rest of his life.

The car itself was sold in recent years, following the death of Briggs, but how is it that the handbook was not included with the car? It would be great if the current owner “wins” this, otherwise the chances of the car and handbook ever being reunited are remote. What a shame.

Perhaps I’m too sentimental, but after such long single ownership, this separation is sad. Of course, the problem as ever is that people don’t keep handbooks in their cars, so when the cars are sold, the handbook gets forgotten. At least it’s not been lost, thrown away etc, and at least there’s an opportunity if the car’s owner watches ebay and cares to bid.
