    I have NGK   AB-8 plugs in the car but they are not right. When I eventually get it started I have to hold off the plug lead to create a heavier spark to make it rev.    As in.    I create a 5 -6mm gap and the car wants to rev.

    Any ideas JK

    Hi John

    I’m a new 2L owner and no expert but the club manual (David Hine 2006) recommends NGK AB6 plugs.  It also includes KLG M60 and Champion K17 but I don’t think you can get these any more

    A belated reply: On my 2 Litre Lagonda’s (one with twin SU carburetters, one with single side-draught SU carburetter and both with their original Scintilla GN4) I have always used NGK AB6 and never had any problems (and I never worry about the gap, just use them as they come out of the box). These are readily available.
