The later 3 litres have an unfortunate angled drive from starter to Bendix(at least my Selector Special does) and the Club drive discs can be too rigid. There used to be drive pegs into the discs to allow a bit of movement, but most will now be on 5/16″bolts and Nyloc nuts with big washers. I found reinforced rubber belting,12mm thick, which works OK (so far!) and seems about right for flexibility; supplied overnight in a convenient 200×200 mm piece (would make 4 discs) for a modest £15.48 delivered.
