Phoenix Green Garage has long been established as a destination and meeting place for car enthusiasts of many marques and models and is considered the spiritual home of the VSCC when it was was formed in 1934 by then Phoenix Green Garage owner L.T.C. Rolt and The Phoenix pub landlord Tim Carson.
We are warmly invited by Nicholas Benwell, director of Phoenix Green Garage to visit his garage in Hartley Wintney. Coming from a vintage car-obsessed family, Nick followed his passion to become a trained restorer, mastering all aspects of mechanical and bodywork restoration, before learning the ropes of the market through jobs with Christies and Bonhams. Now joined in business by David Goodwin of post-war classic car dealership Goodwin Cars, they’ve turned Phœnix Green Garage into one of the country’s leading specialists in high-quality pre-war sports cars.
Arrive at 11.30 for a welcome coffee and tour of the workshop followed by a convivial lunch at The Phoenix Inn.
