Information
David Brown had always had a soft spot for the Lagonda name so that when he got William Towns to design him a comfortable four-seater on the DBS chassis he called the result a Lagonda.
This was in 1969. This first V8 was too powerful for its wire wheels, calling for a new design of aluminium alloy substitutes. After a gap of five years, a further seven were built.
