I’m rebuilding the water pump on my 2 litre. For the moment I’d like to replace the original graphite/asbestos gland with a new gland. Eventually, I’ll get around to sorting out a modern bearing and sealing arrangement. In the meantime, does anyone know where I can obtain suitable gland material and what the best material is?
I advise you to get one of Alun and Peter Jones’s ceramic internal parts for your water pump. Easy fix inside original water pump, invisible and end of all your problems.
