See this link to the car on the forum.
http://www.lagondaforum.com/showtopic.php?id=530&q=litre
Looks to have suffered front end damage at some time; engine replaced, 3.0 litre radiator grill now fitted, fog lamps in wrong place, starter handle access hole shutter is home made; the speedo has been changed for a 3.0 litre speedo; side indicators fitted and switches to dash-board; leather cloth “Rexine” upholstery etc
Will be intereasting to see what it sells for, since it is a road-worthy car, with an MOT
SRD16 June 2013 at 19:34 #50236I went to see the car, but was not impressed, it was a significant rolling restoration, with lots of hidden gremlins.
The car did not sell, interesting given that it had cost the vendor ?23,000 at Bonham’s last year.
SRD20 August 2013 at 07:49 #50317This car is now being offered again, this time at Beaulieu on 8/9th September:
http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20930/lot/328/?page_anchor=MR1_page_lots%3D3%26r1%3D10%26m1%3D1
Estimate is ?15-20k
I have viewed the car before, and I am happy to pass my notes onto anyone who might be interesting in viewing / buying this car.
SRD3 September 2013 at 21:13 #50339There are now lots of new pictures of the car on the Bonham’s web-site.
I hope this time, the car makes it to auction under its own steam and with the original tank and fuel links now all cleared.
Will be interesting to see what it makes at auction, prices for the 2.6 dhc’s do seem to cover the full spectrum.
SRD7 September 2013 at 20:28 #50368I was surprised that this car did not sell, when offered a second time, at a reduced price.
SRD11 February 2014 at 16:49 #50681This car, a 2.6 dhc from 1950, is now being offered for a 3rd time, since unsold at Bonham’s Beaulieu in September and H&H last summer.
Also unsold after private advertisements as well.
The new venue is Bonham’s Oxford, where the vendor first purchased this car back in 2012, for ca. ?23k.
Saturday 8th of March, no estimate yet, previously unsold with estimates of ?15-20k
