just search for lagonda wings. auction ends Sunday 8 August.
I assume these are LG rather than V12.
if anyone is interested, I would like the wheel discs but not the wings so willing to share cost – vendor will not split the lot.
h147 August 2010 at 17:23 #47862Yes, they’re not V12….possibly LG6 but more likely LG45.
And I’ve got a spare set of wings…so perhaps they’re not the rarest set of spare wings on the planet after all!
Surely not expensive at that price, hope they find a good home…like a Le Mans replica being reverted.Colin M347 August 2010 at 21:40 #47863Folks,
I agree, I think they are LG45 wings , which are very widely available than V12 ones, given the number of Le Mans replicas now in existence.

peter weir7 August 2010 at 23:08 #47864I had a look at my early(1935) LG45 DHC wings and whilst the shape looked similar, they didn’t have what appears to be a vertical flange with large hole on the inside of the front wings towards the front as shown on the e bay pictures.
On mine the mounting flange follows the curve of the front dumb irons right to the front.
Could they be early LG6 with the hole in the vertical flange for the bumper mountings?DavidLG458 August 2010 at 09:49 #47866Can’t see how they are LG45. Surely they are LG6? The vertical step in the flange that sits on the chassis rail is where the horns go (pic 2). The back of the spare wheel cover (pic4) – LG45s have a tapering box shape piece here to encase the “pylon” that holds the spare wheel clamp on one side and the jack pump on the other side.
No bids (Sunday am) maybe a bit of bargaining possible?David
Roger Cain28 August 2010 at 20:54 #47882Gentlemen, the wings are now in the Isle of Man and will hopefully serve as a winter project as I bring them back to pristine condition. I normally restore complete cars (of a lesser marque) as a weekend hobby but the wings took my fancy..story of my life! I would be interested in correctly identifying them though.. LG45 or LG6?
DavidLG4529 August 2010 at 07:11 #47883Hi Roger,
Can’t see how they are LG45. LG6 is my opinion. Post some more pix, perhaps?
DavidRoger Cain29 August 2010 at 17:16 #47884Hi David, thanks for the contact.
I’ll be soda blasting them in the coming weeks in preparation to panel beat and remove the dents, so I’ll take some more pics then.Cheers
Roger
Roger Cain2 September 2010 at 21:45 #47889At some point, I’ll be also be looking to replace all the tools in the empty tool box, can anyone please help me in indentifing the specific items that were in the original and possibly where these are sourced?
Alistair Crawford3 September 2010 at 15:55 #47890Roger
here are photos of tools in mine – the leather holder is original but I think that the tools are not.
I bought other tools suitable for Lagonda from http://www.baconsdozen.co.uk/tools/spanners.htm
This is V12 and I don’t know whether LG had same layout and same toolkit.
photos are too big for the forum so will send direct
Alistair
