Bonhams will be auctioning another 3.0 litre dhc in September. The description is riddled with many mistakes as usual.

The estimate is clearly a here to sell price at 20-25,000 pounds.

The car presents nicely, probably conditon 2 at best, maybe a very good 3, but that is subjective.

Plenty to do, to improve the interior from the pictures shown, but looks nice. Seats restored, but original side panels not re-colored to match, leather covered rope handles missing etc etc. But, nothing major, all easily sortable.

Engine rebuilt in last 8-9 years and the excellent garage, Four Ashes have done a lot of work on the car, which is imho, a good sign of a careful owner, they do nice work and are recommended.

Bodywork and paint and chrome all look presentable and a lot of time, money and effort clearly has been into this car. The hood is folded down, but superficially looks to be in good order as well.

Car is in driveable condition and needs some work to bring it up to MOT standard. Although if you wait until later in the year, it won’t need an MOT, given the change in regulations !

Will be interesting to see what the car makes, clearly it will be more than the estimate; cars in this condition are very unusual, one normally only sees the hulks, stripped out cars devoid of engine/box, or just sometimes, near condition 1 cars today.

My guess is 45-50k hammer price.

    Back to holiday now……….

I agree Simon, it could easily go for double the estimate. Maybe the pictures are too flattering?

Unsure with the pictures, will let you know after I have seen the car in the flesh at Bonham’s.

But it does look a good proposition if you don’t have one of these drop dead gorgeous dhc’s yet.
