Hello all,
I’m having a bit of a seasonal clear out – some stuff really has to go; too many projects, too little time.
I have a 2 litre engine that I’d like to sell but have no idea as to its value. i bought it about 6 or 7 years ago from a chap planning to build a special (I have the Sunbeam frame and Alvis gearbox he was going to use too, if anyone is interested). Anyway, the engine is complete and appears to be in good working condition. It was said to have been acquired, by the chap who sold it to me, from a very well known LC member (name can be supplied). Apparently, it had been running in that chap’s car satisfactorily until he was able to swap it for the (correct) supercharged engine. It has been standing in the corner of our workshop ever since purchase.
I would be very grateful for your thoughts as to value, please. In the meantime, Merry Christmas to all and a healthy, prosperous and happy New year.

TVJL28 February 2012 at 15:07 #48799Re the post above, some kind person sent me a message at the time, which I can now no longer locate. Perhaps they would be so good as to contact me again, as i may have some news for them.

17 April 2012 at 21:47 #48939Hello
If nobody has noticed this engine is listed on Ebay with many good pictures.
It does look very complete (minus carb and mag) and if it is as good as it sounds it looks to me to be a good buy (with or without the extras).
The seller is also listing a very nice Watford E4 magneto which again looks very good.
I just wish it was a 16/80 engine!
Regards
Chrislagonda3322 April 2012 at 18:49 #48967Could you tell me what the number is on the N/S of the timing cover? I am trying to register as many numbers as possible to try and find out more about 2 Litre engine numbering, following mhy 3 articles about that in the Lagonda Magazine a few years ago. If the engine is still on ebay, copuld you provide a link?
