SUMMARY:Bluebells and Cowslips Scenic Drive
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Bluebells & Cowslips run will be on Sunday 19th May.  We are planning to make our way from the Maybush to the Fawley Hill Steam & Vintage Transport Festival where Lady McAlpine has kindly offered us our own parking area.  We hope to set off a little earlier than in previous years to make the most of the festival and Sharon at the Maybush has kindly agreed to serve breakfast snacks from 9am.  Please use this link to register your vehicle which includes 2 event wristbands.  Registration is free\, although there is the opportunity to make a voluntary donation\, so please do register even if you are planning to see what the weather is like before deciding to come.  (It will time out if you are too slow so be prepared with the name of your insurers and policy number plus a brief description of the vehicle.)  Please tick the Sunday box (plus any other days you plan to visit the event!) and enter Pre-War Wheels as your club.  Although some have already told me they are intending to take part\, it would help my planning (and peace of mind) if you can drop me a line when you have registered.

DESCRIPTION:Twenty rooms have been reserved by the club at The Pheasant which is a luxury hotel in Kelling Nr Holt Norfolk NR25 7EG for four nights from Sunday 21 April to Thursday morning 25 April 202. \nThe hotel has well furnished bedrooms\, generous public space for socialising and adequate parking for our cars out of sight from the road. It is situated centrally close to the North Norfolk coast and with a pleasant drive to a variety of venues from which to create itineraries for three full day tours. \nThe Club has paid £50 each to hold 20 bedrooms for club members and those wishing to join the tour should contact the hotel on 01263 588382 to secure one of the reserved rooms to suit your preference. The charge negotiated with the hotel and payable on 1st February 2024 for dinner\, bed and breakfast will be £1\,081.75 for a Classic double room and £1\,131.75 for a Superior double room. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis. DESCRIPTION:The Lagonda Club Spitfire Visit on Saturday 14th October. \nThe South-East Section of the Lagonda Club are holding the first Lagonda Spitfire Visit to Headcorn Airfield\, the last grass wartime airfield left in Kent from which you can experience iconic WW2 aircraft and the home of Aero Legends. \nWe will be meeting at midday on Saturday the 14th October and parking near the dispersal hut. \nThe Aero Legend team have allowed us access to one of their glorious operational Spitfires and we’ll get a short 10 minute talk from one of the pilots as well as a talk on Aero Legends operations by the founder. You will get to see the Spitfire flying on the day. \nThis is an amazing opportunity to get up and close with one of the most iconic fighter aircraft ever designed. \nAs an incentive\, everyone who brings their Lagonda will have their name put in a hat to win a 20-minute flight in a 1946 Biplane that is owned and operated by one of the club members. \nYou can bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy watching the aircraft or buy food at the aerodrome cafe. There is a car parking charge of £3 on the day. \nPlease register your interest\, your car and numbers in your party as soon as possible. \nIt is hoped that if this event is successful it will become an annual gathering for the Club and one not to miss on the Club Events Calendar.

SUMMARY:Nidderdale Summer Outing
DESCRIPTION:In June 2023 a group of Lagonda owners are undertaking a four day tour of North Yorkshire.  Driving roads that will allow them to exercise and enjoy their cars to the full with enthusiasts who bring the camaraderie and fellowship to maximise the experience. \nThe tour is based in the Yorke Arms\, Ramsgill in Nidderdale where participants will have the opportunity to experience North Yorkshire at its best.  Great roads\, including two prewar hill climbs\, and stunning Dales scenery.  With lots of potential coffee\, pastry\, retail and libatious opportunities \nThe event was heavily oversubscribed as soon as the idea was properly formulated.  The main reason the event was oversubscribed is the capacity of the Yorke Arms.  So\, a number of people who were keen to participate were disappointed. \nSo\, I have decided to offer a potential re-run of the event.  Arrival will be Sunday 20th August and departure on Thursday 24th August. \nContact me if you wish to participate in the Nidderdale Tour. \n
