The 47th Suffolk Dinner will take place at 7.30 pm on Friday 21st August 2026. Our hosts are Britten Pears Arts who run the famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall. This was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth. The River View Restaurant is part of this complex with a spectacular panoramic view over the reed beds towards Aldeburgh.
Britten Pears Arts offer a number of B&B or self-catering accommodation options at the Snape Maltings. These should be booked via their website https://www.brittenpearsarts.org/visit-us/stay/snape-maltings-properties. This is high season, so book soon. For those who prefer five star hotel accommodation in Aldeburgh, secure parking for cars and taxis are available at the Maltings.
There will be a lot on at the Maltings in August. There are several performance venues as well as independent shops and galleries with river cruises and visits to the Red House also on offer. The Summer concert programme will be available on https://www.brittenpearsarts.org/
There will be a coffee morning at the Club spares operation at Johnson’s Farm at Carlton near Saxmundham on Saturday 22nd August.
As with previous years, many local attractions can also be booked so visitors can enjoy a mini break touring the countryside. It’s also an easy drive from Harwich and we will be welcome a number of overseas visitors.
